I'm here!!! It's so hot and dusty that if it wasn't for the air conditioning I'd be a puddle of grumpiness right now. But everyone's been really nice and friendly so that's goooood. Going to see the pyramids on Thursday and... Museum-ness Wednesday and we're going to a mosque tomorrow so it's going to be interesting. I keep getting scared out of my life when they start the call to prayers when we're in the street because they're voices just explode out of nowhere on loud-speaker systems and I nearly shrieked earlier cos I was standing right next to one >< there are about 5 mosques around as at the moment but for some reason I've slept through their calls to prayer at 4am for two nights in a row - Dad thinks I must be deaf.

The driving is horrendous too! OMG seriously people take donkeys on the motorway, drive on the pavements, weave in and out of each other and park on round-a-bouts. And apparently the lions in the Cairo Zoo are really fat 'cos people keep feeding them hamburgers!!! I'd love to see what the keepers at work would do if someone tried to give a servil a cheese burger. I guess the gigantic optical-viewing-statue of a giraffe might double as a laser-beam gun... like from it's eyes or something. Hopefully I won't get fired for writing that. XD

Dad made me go to Church on our first day >< and his friend nudged me when he realised I had gone off into a daydream and wasn't singing the psalms @_@ but I have forgiven him 'cos he told Dad where we can go see Arabic religious dancing and when and also also also told us that Dad's marathon-running-esque club is still on on Friday so we're going to go along. Which means... MARATHON IN THE DESERT WOOW!!! This is weird for me cos I HATE running and the sun and sand... but I can't WAIT!!!

But yeah. Tried to get on facebook earlier but it's all in Arabic and surprisingly I don't understand it. Hopefully the next Shardlake book has arrived by the time I get home. I will be sad otherwise, I miss that man so ;_;
